  • GCSE Summer Exams

    ​The exam period in the summer term for Years 10 and 11 will begin on Friday 8th May 2015 and will continue until Monday 22nd June 2015. Individual timetables will be available in January 2015

  • London Trip 2015

    ​Next year's trip to London will take place on July 15th-16th.  This time we will be going to see The Lion King, Stomp and the Natural History Museum, (check them out on the internet) as well as doing some shopping and sightseeing. The cost for the trip is £160. If you are in years 7, 8 9 or 11 and fancy coming along, see Ms Pennington for a letter.

  • November GCSE Maths

    ​Several year 11 pupils will be sitting their GCSE Maths exams in November. You can find the dates and times by clicking here.

  • Year 10 English controlled assessments

    ​The controlled assessments timetable for Year 10 can be found here. It is important that all pupils are in school on thes dates and in the run up to the assessments. These pieces of work count towards the English  GCSE grade

  • Sandfields Netball

    ​Sandfields netball season was kick started last weekend with the annual netball tour to Shrewsbury. There were 48 teams competing in four age groups. The standard was very high. This year we took two year 8 teams and a year 9 team. The girls played extremely well and did themselves and Sandfields proud. The Year 8A team secured 3rd place in the cup competition, the Year 8b team came 5th in the plate competition whilst the Year 9 team came 3rd in the plate competition. Congratulations to all players

  • Spain 2015

    There are two spaces left for Spain 2015. The trip is open to pupils in years 8,9 & 10. See Miss Carver for more information.

  • WBQ Volunteers needed

    ​Year 10 volunteers are wanted to help out with the school book fair and Macmillan coffee morning.

  • School Book Fair

    ​The Scholastic book fair is coming to the library on Monday 22nd September until Friday 26th September.  The fair will open at lunch time and after school.  The fair will be packed full of new and exciting books along with stationary and posters.

    Come along and have a look for yourself, see you there!


  • Neath Port Talbot Credit Union

    ​The credit union will be running every Wednesday lunch time and after school for any budding young savers out there.

  • Sandfields gets gold star for PE

    Sandfields has finished top of the class after their work in PE received a glowing report.

    Sport Wales and the Association for Physical Education (afPE) are championing schools which recognise the importance of PE

    ActiveMark Cymru endorses schools that are committed to developing high quality physical education and school sport and for promoting the benefits of physical activity.

  • SPAIN 2015

    Following the great success of our visit to Italy this year we are excited to let you know that we will be visiting the Costa Brava, Spain during May 2015. This is open to yr 7, 8 & 9 pupils only. We will be staying in Lloret de Mar and visiting Barcelona and Figueras. Letters will be given out in a meeting at breaktime on Tuesday 17th June in the cookery room.

  • Sandfields win National award

    ​Congratulations to all pupils who were involved in the Show Racism the Red Card Creative Arts competition.

    On Thursday 1st of May, 3 pupils represented the art department at the event in the Cardiff Marriot Hotel!

    Not only did we win the category themed Nelson Mandela, but the judges decided to award the school the overall award!

    We are all very proud of pupils!
