"Learn to Live, Live to Learn / Dysgu Byw, Byw i Ddysgu"
Croeso i / Welcome to
Pen Afan Primary
I am delighted to be seconded as the headteacher of the Upper Afan Valley Federation of Schools.  The community is wonderful and the schools are very welcoming.  We are determined to ensure that the schools are happy and safe places where every child can learn and succeed. We offer an excellent education for each pupil that combines success in qualifications, a healthy life and a sound mind.
We seek an all-round personal development for every pupil so that each child becomes a positive person who is ready for life ahead. We seek to maintain the best traditions but also to be innovative when this helps the community.  Each school has its own culture through which we promote excellent pupil behaviour and consistent effort. We care for every child so we focus on each individual.  All members of staff are highly ambitious for our pupils and so we find ways to support and challenge pupils according to their own needs.  As a result, our pupils become confident, resilient and capable young people who contribute to their families, the local community and beyond. Our pupils make outstanding progress and achieve impressive exam results because of their hard work, high-quality teaching and welcoming classes.
There are many opportunities in charitable works, citizenship, sport, eisteddfodau, culture and the arts.  These opportunities enhance pupils’ well-being, inquisitiveness and creativity. We extend to you a warm welcome if you would like to contact us.
